I like the Internet, I like the world wide web, I like wikipedia, I like AJAX, I don’t like the old web programming paradigm, interactive UI is what people need, but I hate web2.0, and I hate those people who are telling the world how much they know about web2.0 while they’re in fact just eyeing for VC investments.

10 days have already past since 2007, and Apple, Inc today gives me an idea for my new year resolution, to get an iPhone this year.
Am I too materialistic? No, I just love good design and appreciate their attention to details. Take a look at their demos and you’ll also wonder why traditional mobile phone company can’t make a phone that’s as easy to use as Apple’s. Be creative.

QR code WordPress plugin

I used to show QR codes in my old theme (not in the current theme as they don’t blend very well) and my friends think that’s intriguing, so I had been working on releasing a WordPress plugin to do that for quite some time. It’s not difficult because WordPress documentation is quite clear, and I’ve finally brushed up the code and released it under an open source license. If you want to get your hands dirty to embed some wierd codes in your blog to scare your visitors away, or you want to show off your technical savviness, you have come to the right place. Creators of any website that resembles my homepage must be vi-addicted. *grin*
The author is crazy enough to implement hjkl keystrokes for movement in the search results, i for insert, commands like :q and :help for quit and help messages, etc. There is also a status bar at the bottom that looks exactly like a normal vim. Uber-cool.

RAYS TS silently evolves to be Web 2.0

RAYS TS, the advanced cinema ticketing system written in Java Swing, will not just be able to sell tickets and manage box office any more. The new version, which is to be launched after alpha test is finished, will fully embrace the web 2.0 framework by switching from Java Swing to the rich client paradigm. New features include blogging and social networking. The idea is to help you make more friends while you are buying tickets, and encourage more user-contributed contents. The system will automatically match up frequent visitors who watch the same movies as you and the RAYS TS backend system will send you SMS whenever there is a match. Every web page will be splashed with lots of (i.e. more than what you need) icons so that you can add our site to popular bookmarking and news reading sites easily, those include del.ico.us, Technorati, Bloglines, ViVi, Newsgator, Pluck, Newsburst, Rojo, Kinja, Feedlounge, to name a few. The whole website will be AJAX driven so users can enjoy the ability to drag-and-drop. In the test we did, we found that you could drag up anything and then dropped it to anywhere, pretty cool.
Apparently, RAYS TS is a web 2.0 product that any VC shouldn’t miss out, I think it’ll become really hot, and I predict that their new website (with the word “beta”, of course) will be launched very soon. As any web 2.0 website does, it has a unique (or not so unique) logo, with the shadow effect, the “beta” tag, and in a cozy light blue color tone.
